Story Consultant & Script Editor

Joseph has contributed as a story consultant, development producer and script editor on a wide range of acclaimed film and television projects. Working closely with producers, directors and key creatives, he helps teams clarify intention, strengthen story and find a shared vision across the life of a film. His approach is grounded in deepening character, cinematic impact and narrative structure, with a collaborative approach that supports both experienced teams and emerging creatives.

His involvement is tailored to the needs of each project and stage of development, helping teams respond constructively to marketplace and commissioning feedback while nurturing the creative journey of filmmakers as their projects evolve. This can include strengthening funding pitches in early development, shaping storylines and treatments ahead of production, preparing contributors and creatives for interviews, working through the integration of archive, or collaborating closely with editors and key creatives throughout post-production.

Alongside his consulting work, Joseph has lectured on story at AIDC and AFTRS Sydney and maintains long-standing consultancy relationships with Australia’s leading production companies.
